Why we exist

Every year, 2.3 million workers die from occupational accidents and diseases. Another 340 million suffer non-fatal injuries. Behind each statistic is a person—a parent, child, friend—whose life is forever changed.

Traditional safety approaches rely on lagging indicators: we count injuries after they happen. We believe technology can shift safety from reactive to predictive, from documentation to prevention.

GuardX was founded to build that technology. We combine purpose-built hardware with advanced AI to detect hazards in real-time and intervene before injuries occur. Our goal is nothing less than eliminating serious injuries from the workplace.

Our story

2019

Founded with a vision

GuardX was founded by a team of AI researchers and safety professionals who saw the gap between available technology and its application to workplace safety. We started in a small office with a simple belief: AI could prevent injuries, not just document them.

2020

First customers & seed funding

Deployed our first system at a manufacturing facility. Within 90 days, they saw a 40% reduction in safety incidents. Raised $8M seed round to expand the team and accelerate product development.

2021

Thor hardware launch

Launched Thor, our purpose-built edge computing hardware. Moving AI processing to the edge eliminated latency and privacy concerns that had limited previous solutions. Achieved SOC 2 Type 2 certification.

2022

Series A & global expansion

Raised $25M Series A. Expanded to Europe and Asia-Pacific. Launched Atena AI platform with 60+ detection categories. Surpassed 100 enterprise customers across 15 countries.

2023

Ergo AI & Series B

Launched Ergo AI for automated ergonomic assessment. Raised $52M Series B led by top-tier safety-focused investors. Reached 200 team members across 6 offices worldwide.

Today

Scaling prevention globally

Operating in 30 countries across 6 continents. Processing 25B+ images daily. Prevented an estimated 47,000+ serious injuries. And we're just getting started.
